We exist to receive and share the love of God “

Welcome to the parish of Hurst, St John the Evangelist.  At the heart of our church life is the worship of God; everything else comes from that worship.

We seek to reach upwards , to God in worship and adoration, inward to one another in fellowship and outwards to the community and the world in witness and service.

Every week we hold Sunday Eucharist, which is of the Liberal Catholic traditional.

We have a Director of Music and a robed choir; priests wear vestments and incense is used as an aid to worship.

As a community of believers we value each other’s God given gifts and recognise that we all have a part to play in making God’s Kingdom known in Hurst.

Children are welcome. Children’s Church meets in St John’s room for age appropriate activities and teaching. There are also facilities for pre-school children.

Older children are encourage to actively participate as acolytes and servers at the alter.

As Priest in Charge of this Parish, I invite you to join us. You will find a very warm and welcoming community.

With God’s blessings

Rev’d Liz Devall, Priest in Charge.
